When you build with Sandcastle Construction Co., you build with confidence. Michael J. Valiquette, president and founder, has been in the construction business since he was 18 years old. He began his long, successful career as the apprentice of a master carpenter on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Michael became a master carpenter himself, started his own business and has been self-employed ever since.

Michael Valiquette and his family moved to Sanibel in 1990. In addition to building residents’ dream homes, he has also served Sanibel Island and Captiva Island by holding various official offices, including being chairman of the Sanibel Planning Commission and the PURRE Water Coalition.

Today, Sandcastle Construction Co. takes on each job with the same level of personal attention and care as it did the day it was founded. We take pride in the customized care that we give our customers. Everything that we do is tailored to the specific needs of the customer.

We are a design and build general contractor. This means that we have a unique ability to help make our customers’ dreams become their reality. Even after owning his own construction business for decades, Michael personally manages every home construction project.
